The unchangeable begins to change when we change ourselves

Honorable judges! Ladies and Gentlemen, good morning! Two years ago, the poor performance in the College Entrance Examination brought me into a university that was quite far away from my dream.

Facing such a devastating blow, should I complain all day long about my bad luck? And get a diploma that means nothing to me? I said NO . Instead of giving in to my destiny, I started to look at my life in different ways and now I am enjoying the colorful campus life!

I know there are people who are stuck with the settled plans, routines and stereotypes that when they face something unchangeable, they stop trying. While the rest of people, when they face the similar situations, would like to break the rules, lift the barriers and take actions. What seems unchangeable at first sight is changed in the end.

When Abraham Lincoln was faced with a heavy family burden and a series of failures in his career, he kept trying and finally became one of the greatest presidents in America.

Beethoven lost his hearing at the age of 28,which made him impossible to continue his career. But he overcame his physical deficiencies, with his great talents and strong determination and finally he became one of the greatest classical musicians.

When severe earthquake hit Wenchuan, the people there recovered from the pain of losing their beloved ones with their energy and courage.They changed the wreck into grassland.

Life sometimes can be tough, but we are tougher. We can not change our background, but we can change our destiny through efforts.
We can not change the physical disabilities ,we can change the mentality so that we can lead a normal life as we want.
We can not change the natural disasters that have occurred, but we can change the t casualties tough minds and joint efforts;
We cant change the world, but we can change our perspectives.

Therefore, now, I'm sparing no effort to acquire knowledge and skills, keeping a positive attitude and trying to improve myself every day, A brighter future is waiting for us,everyone!Lets change the unchangeable. I can, you can!Thank you!
