留学党有一个说不出的苦衷，在国外呆了那么久，
听得懂English讲座,
写得了English论文，
讲得过English同学，
撕得过English室友。
However，自己的English听上去还是跟人家有一丢丢不一样，那一丢丢是什么呢？

小可怜，下面来说一说让人头疼的中国式英语。

Episode01

Chinese Style: It was so late there was no taxi.
American Style: It was so late that there was no taxi available.
注意：so...that...“太 以至于”的用法
available可用的

Chinese Style: Your coat is broken.
American Style: Your coat is torn.
tear 动词 ：撕裂，过去分词torn

Chinese Style: Let me help you to do your work.
American Style: Let me help you with your work.
老美更喜欢help sb. with sth

Chinese Style: Susan didn't make a fault anyway.
American Style: Susan didn't make a mistake anyway.
fault 表示有责任性的错误

Chinese Style: He becomes better.
American Style: He got better.
百用的get,表示变化

Chinese Style: I recommend you to take along vacation.
American Style: I recommend that you take along vacation.
这个要注意了，因为老师也中枪了。查了金山，Webster、Oxford等词典后，该词的一般用法如下：

spotted：recommend第一个含义：告诉某人什么东西好或者好用，或者告诉某人他更适合某一工作。用法如上截图。


spotted：recommend第二个含义：建议某一特定行动，建议某人做某事。用法如上截图。

therefore，第一个中国式的句子显然语气过于强烈，我建议你去度假。
（你不用建议我也想去度假好不啦）

而美语的表达为：我觉得你应该去度个假。（度假对你会有好处）

Chinese Style: The last bus leaves at eleven o'clock. It's about eleven now, Hurry up !
American Style: The last bus leaves at eleven o'clock. It's nearly eleven now, Hurry up !
nearly更符合“急切的”语气。

Chinese Style: It was still bright outside.
American Style: It was still light outside.
bright多指的是抽象的光明，比如your future is bright.

Chinese Style: Anywhere will do.
American Style: Any place will do.
语法错误：anywhere是副词

Chinese Style: Wait here please, I'll come back in a minute.
American Style: Wait here please, I'll be back in a minute.
马上回来BRB=be right back, come指的是走出很远后再回来，就不可能是等一分钟了。

Chinese Style: I am uncomfortable.
American Style: I don't feel well.
be uncomfortable about sth. 某事不合人意，让人觉得不舒服。
Chinese Style: Common students in US don't wear a uniform.
American Style: The average student in US don't wear a uniform.
common普通的对应special特殊的，平常无特指一般的情况用average

Chinese Style: Who cooked this salad ?
American Style: Who made this salad ?
