词根释义：“host” and “guest”
原文：It comes from the Latin word hospes and its stem hospit- meaning both “host” and “guest”.
联想：Hospitality（好客） is what a good host or hostess offers to a guest. A hospital was once a house for religious pilgrims（朝圣者） and other travels, or a home for the aged.

定义: A person given or held to ensure that an agreement, demand or treaty(条约) is kept or fulfilled.
例句: The kidnappers released their hostages unharmed once all their demands were met.
